Journey overview
Otočec is famous for its pearl of medieval castle architecture, the Otočec Castle, which is situated on an islet in the middle of the Krka River. Lately, it has become known for its offer of unforgettable experiences for sports, nature, recreation and golf fans.
The first nine holes were built in 2005 and 2006. Since June 2009, the championship golf course has 18 holes for golfers to play on. The 75-plus-hectare golf course is situated along the emerald river Krka, close to the famed Otočec Castle. Our commitment to maintaining the high quality of the golf course and accompanying services won us the coveted Best Golf Course title, presented by the Slovenian Golf Course Owners Association (GIZ-GIS), in 2007 and 2008. Building on the recognition and show of trust we received, as well as out of respect for this remarkable sport, we will keep a sharp focus on providing a high level of service also in the future. Well-being and relaxation is taken care of at the nearby Vitarium Spa&Clinique Centre at the Šmarješke Toplice Spa or at the Balnea Wellness Centre at the Dolenjske Toplice Spa. Other local activities include tennis, boating on the river Krka, archery and panoramic flights. Nestled among lush forests of Dolenjska, the open and diverse fairways, large and fairly undemanding greens, and spectacular views of the fairways and the surrounding areas are all the more reason why you will love this golf course.
