The Mermaid Hotel and Club is nestled in a vast coconut grove along a stretch of golden sandy beach in Mahawaskaduwa, a cosy fishing village in the city of Kalutara, situated along the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

Kalutara derives its name from the ‘Kalu Ganga’ or Black River. Another attraction which is considered a must-do is the most revered three-story high hollow stupa that was built on the premises of the Kalutara Vihara in the 1960s.

Travel time from the Bandaranayake International Airport (BIA) to our Kalutara hotel is approximately two hours (45 miles) and a little over one hour from the capital city of Colombo (24 miles).
