Journey overview
Son Servera is, for the greatest part, a gently undulating parkland course with generous fairways and rough kept to a length where finding the off line shot does not cause too many difficulties. The errant shot is much more likely to be punished by the intervention of one of the many evergreen oak, pine, olive, carob and palm trees that dot the course blocking the way to the pin. Holes 3 to 7 are undoubtedly different as narrow tree lined fairways venture into the hills and twist between the lakes and pines making this stretch the toughest test on the course.
The greens are subtly undulating and water is an enhancing feature on 6 holes. There is, however, always a range of shots on offer providing realistic options for both accomplished and more modest players.
All parts of the course give fine views of the pine clad mountains which protect the course from the worst of any winter storms and from many holes there are splendid views over the Bay of Cala Millor.
At various times of the year, flowering oleanders and bougainvillea add to the colours and the numerous hares, ducks and other birdlife that abound add to the feeling that the course really iss a special place.
The course has a par of 72 and off back tees measures 6.000 metres for men (slope 142) and 5.146 metres for ladies (slope 141). On non tournament days tees are moved forward providing visitors and guests with an enjoyable and fair challenge.
Beautiful, challenging, fair and fun, the course at Son Servera offers something to everyone.

Son Servera Golf Club - Golf Son Servera
The original 9 hole course opened in 1966 and was named Punta Rotja Golf Club, changing its name shortly afterwards to how it is known today - Son Servera Golf Club. It was designed by John Harris and Francisco López Segales, and it is the second oldest golf course in Mallorca.
Those who play the new holes, 3 to 7, often comment how tight they are, as they wind between Mallorca Pines, leaving no margin for error off the tee. The original 9 holes were all like that, but on the 11th of November 2001 a ferocious storm struck blowing down approximately 2,200 pine trees, and completely changing the dynamics of the course. Today you will still find local people and returning visitors talking about this storm!
In the spring of 2012 development work at the course was completed, extending the course from 9 to 18 holes with hole numbers 3 to 7, and 12 to 15, being added to the layout.
The course and friendly club house are a favourite of many of the local people, although it still remains 'off the radar' for many visiting golfers. It's worth remembering that the club has come a long way from when the green fee was 150 ptas (0.90€) and the clubhouse was a Coca Cola shack!
In summary Son Servera is a challenging 18 hole golf course that demands good accuracy off the tee, particularly on the front 9 where most of the fairways are relatively narrow.
If you're staying in the Cala Millor or Cala Bona areas, then this is a great course to play on either your day of arrival or departure.
