A high standard 27-hole golf course 

The Vila Sol golf course is internationally known, and is since 2011 managed by the Pestana Group, who owns 4 others golf courses in the Algarve. 

The Vila Sol golf course was inaugurated in 1991 with the signature of the architect Donald Steel. The Pestana Vila Sol have been the hosting golf course for Portugal Open in 1991 and 1992. 

The value of Pestana Vila Sol Golf Course was recognized in 1996 with the distinction of Green Globe of the Green Flag (certificate of compliance with environmental standards) and Best Golf Development in 2001 which was presented by Sir Eric Pickles, a member of the British parliament. 


When Art meets Algarvian Nature 

The Vila Sol Golf Course, winding through an immense pinewood, is a typical inland golf course of the British school, posing a test of the golfer's strategic skills. 
The Vila Sol Golf Course is surrounded by beautifulart sculptures and which stretches along a wide valley, naturally sculpted by Mother Nature and divided into three loops with three different levels of difficulty: Prime, Challenge and Prestige. 
The narrow fairways of Vila Sol Golf demand accurate driving. The player also has to face several obstacles during the game, lakes and bunkers, as well as fast grass on the greens. A low overall score will be the fruit of early successes on the first four holes, reckoned to be the most difficult on the entire course.
